At a fiercely contested title, where all the young guns had gathered to the fray, Jack won the statewide REIV Novice Auctioneer Competition in 2016, and is now an accredited Auctioneer Coach himself, and a joy to watch on any given Saturday.

When Abercrombys sounded out Jack as senior sales executive and auctioneer he had already been working successfully in real estate for six years in a franchise operation. He’d been fast-tracked into partnership and was on a trajectory that would make many a young agent happy. But he felt a level of disquiet, a lack of satisfaction.

Jack immediately identified the possibilities he saw at Abercrombys with its discreet sales methods focused on the high-end market, ‘I saw a really good culture, with an expectation of a one-on-one relationship between vendor and agent.

The truth is, when you get to know your vendor you have skin in the game. You try harder. You care. And when you get a good result for someone you care about it maximizes job satisfaction. Simple as that.’  The young man is intuitive, he got the Abercrombys philosophy in that first interview.

Having grown up on the Surfcoast and gone to school at The Geelong College he has an approachable personality that belies the inner drive that has enabled him to excel. Leaving school, he went to live in Florida, working on a superyacht and travelling throughout the Bahama’s. It was ‘Educational,’ he says, mixing with people who know the world inside out. But home eventually called, as it does. So he came back to Australia and set up in business at Queenscliff selling boats. After selling that business he entered real estate.
